Though Cannondale’s iconic Lefty fork has been around for over 20 years, some riders still like to mock its appearance and question its existence. Unlike most forks, the Headshok cartridges can be upgraded, sometimes resulting in more travel. The Headshok fork will not twist and bend around while under load like most conventional forks. We use this “rigid” design to have a flex-free system that you can “point-and-go”. This assembly is pressed into the crown of a set of rigid aluminum fork blades. With this design Cannondale has a system that rolls and does not slide like other suspension forks. Together, with an aluminum outer tube and a steel or aluminum inner steerer tube, they form a telescoping assembly.
